Our Anniversary
Our anniversary was on Saturday, Feb 10, -- 33 years! yikes! -- we went to Vegas for the weekend, came back Monday evening. Stayed at the Monte Carlo, never wandered from it.
Saturday evening we had dinner at Blackstone's, their very Hoity-toity steak house (as in our server put my napkin on my lap, never offered me diet coke, only bottled still water or bottled fizzy water). I had King Salmon, Donna had Filet Mignon. Actually Donna had less than half of her filet, I had Salmon and filet mignon. Had a professional(?) photographer take our picture, bought one in a nice looking cardboard folder. Since Donna only ate half her meal I "allowed" her to pay the tab. No! I mean because she sat on my right I let her pay. Or, because she wore a very pretty dress. I don't remember, there was a good reason.
Later Saturday I played poker, made $250. Sunday I gave it all back. But at least I had fun. That's how I came home, with almost exactly the same amount of gambling money I had allotted for the weekend ($500).
Every day, Donna changed the bandages on my foot. No rest for her on my mini-holiday! She even let me drive home the last 8 miles or so.

Am I supposed to know everybody's anniversary dates? I don't know ANY. In fact, Maggie and I get OURS wrong every year. And there have only been two. Or is it one? Three? Dang.
Glad to see you are still getting to Vegas to play poker, Dave. Did Donna get to play (between changing your bandages, of course)? Who watched Duchess?

And visit ME? You should come before it gets too hot. Right now it is beautiful - sunny all day and cool in the evenings. Supposedly there was rain this morning, but I slept through it (under the influence of many doses of Nyquil - sick as a dog).
Did you like the wind and rain this evening? I would guess you got it too. It came and went in about 10 minutes, but it was NASTY!!!
Hey... Seriously... Donna - I am working so many hours, and I haven't gotten a chance to get out there to see you (what's left of you) or David in MONTHS. COME OUT HERE!

You do not need to remember our Anniversary, that's not why I posted about it. Our neighbor, Rhonda, looked in on the dogs everyday while we were gone. Donna did play some poker.
Sorry, long car trips are out for me for a while. Even Vegas, only a couple of hours away, is a stretch. Long car trips cause my foot, already a little swollen, to swell up like a over-stuffed sausage. Maybe for Jen's birthday. Haven't done that for many years.
BTW Bruce, you and Mags haven't seen the house since we moved in. Donna has done amazing things with it. And she's about ready to start painting again.

I am on a job that keeps me here with no days off until the end of March (except for weekends, but those are already booked with soccer, dance, and other assorted kid-related events).
So... maybe we can plan on getting out there in April. That's right about the time that Mom will start complaining about the heat. What a nice little coincidence!

Happy Belated Anniversary. I can remember it- it's also the same day as my sister's b-day!

So Grumps - vacu thingy is all done? That must be a very good sign! Keep getting better so you can come out to play. We miss you!
