Our Anniversary
Our anniversary was on Saturday, Feb 10, -- 33 years! yikes! -- we went to Vegas for the weekend, came back Monday evening. Stayed at the Monte Carlo, never wandered from it.
Saturday evening we had dinner at Blackstone's, their very Hoity-toity steak house (as in our server put my napkin on my lap, never offered me diet coke, only bottled still water or bottled fizzy water). I had King Salmon, Donna had Filet Mignon. Actually Donna had less than half of her filet, I had Salmon and filet mignon. Had a professional(?) photographer take our picture, bought one in a nice looking cardboard folder. Since Donna only ate half her meal I "allowed" her to pay the tab. No! I mean because she sat on my right I let her pay. Or, because she wore a very pretty dress. I don't remember, there was a good reason.
Later Saturday I played poker, made $250. Sunday I gave it all back. But at least I had fun. That's how I came home, with almost exactly the same amount of gambling money I had allotted for the weekend ($500).
Every day, Donna changed the bandages on my foot. No rest for her on my mini-holiday! She even let me drive home the last 8 miles or so.

The High-Desert Penmans
Okay, I give! I'll start posting again. And I will try to get Donna posting, too. Just so we're clear - I'm only doing this because Bruce and Maggie are shaming me into it. And I am pretty sure I will be able to shame Alyssa, Andrea, and Jennifer into posting more often.
Topics for this blog will be whatever is going on here in Apple Valley, CA. Which will mostly consist of health news.
Donna's health: I am losing her. She is disappearing a little bit each day!
David's health: Well, 2006 was a bang-up year for my health! But, this is a new year! I am still in a wheel chair and on the wound-vac, but the doctor is allowing me to walk around a little. I may still need a wheel chair by the time we go on our cruise in March.
We are actually considering postponing the cruise from a March cruise in the Carribean to a June cruise to Alaska. It will depend on how much trouble that is and how expensive switching will be.
So that's it for a first post. We are up here in the High Desert, just Donna, me, and the two dogs. That's Duchess and Zoe (we have Zoe because Alyssa is in a housing bind and Zoe loves it here - wide open spaces and all the little dogs you can eat).
Have a nice day.
